Wrestling round-up: Southern Door, Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol head to Preble for invitational

Several teams will resume wrestling on Saturday with tournaments both in and out of state.

 

On Saturday, Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol will travel to Green Bay Preble for the Willard Schmidt Invitational. In addition to the host school, Kaukauna, Neenah, Seymour, Chilton, Freedom, Lomira, Menominee Indian, Mishicot, Ozaukee, Ripon, Sheboygan South, and Waupaca will also participate when the first matches begin at 9:45 a.m.

 

As of 10:30 p.m., no results were posted from Kewaunee's quad meet at Brillion

GIRLS WRESTLING

Luxemburg-Casco's two girls wrestlers each posted multiple victories in Friday's Lady Tiger Invite. Jakayla Steinhorst earned two wins to take fourth place overall, while teammate Evelyn Lange posted three wins to take third place overall.

 

Arianna Niemojuski had a Friday to remember for the Kewaunee girls wrestling team at the Lady Tiger Invite. After receiving a bye in the first round, Niemojuski pinned four straight opponents to earn first place at 152 pounds.

 

The Southern Door girls wrestling team rode three runner-up finishes to place third at Friday's Lady Tiger Invite. Nora LeFevre, Sydney Turner, and Attyson Wilson posted multiple pins on their way to second place in their respective finishes. Turner had to wrestle her way back to take second place. Portia Hah also reached the podium with a third place place finish.
