Boys basketball round-up: Two NRSN broadcasts highlight Friday's slate

After Sturgeon Bay kicked off the post-holiday break with its game on Thursday, the rest of the area's boys basketball teams will be busy on Friday.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys basketball team found itself trying to catch a train on Thursday, falling to the St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs 80-67. It will be a quick turnaround for the Clippers as they travel to face Two Rivers for a 7 p.m. tip.

The first game in 2025 broadcast on U-102.1 will come on Friday night as the Algoma Wolves play host to the Southern Door Eagles in Varsity Boys Basketball. Jacob Nate will have the call from Algoma. Pregame is scheduled for 6:45 pm, followed by a 7:00 pm tip-off.

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans will start up 2025 with a rivalry game against the Denmark Vikings in North Eastern Conference boys’ basketball action. The pregame is set for 7:00 p.m., with tip-off at 7:15 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on NEW Radio Sports Network. Paul Schmitt and Eric Fisher will have the call from Luxemburg-Casco High School.

Other boys basketball games scheduled for Friday include Kewaunee visiting Peshtigo (7 p.m.), and Gibraltar hosting Sevastopol (7 p.m.).
