Phoenix basketball teams enter new week still streaking

The Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams concluded last week still holding onto their respective for better and for worse.

 

The Phoenix women outscored the Wright State 16-9 in the second quarter and rode that momentum to a 69-51 win on Saturday. Callie Genke posted a team-best 14 points, while Natalie McNeal and Cassie Schiltz chipped in 13. Jasmine Kondrakiewicz, Jenna Guyer. Miah Meyer added eight points apiece, and Guyer just missed out on a double-double with 10 rebounds. The Phoenix take a four-game winning streak to Youngstown State on Thursday and Robert Morris on Saturday.

 

This time, it was a second-half swoon that buried the Phoenix men in Northern Kentucky, falling to the Norse 78-60. Down by just two at the break, the Norse outscored the Phoenix 34-16 down the stretch to extend the Phoenix's losing skid to 12. Marcus Hall paced the Phoenix with 19 points, Preston Ruedinger contributed 13 points,and Mac Wrecke chipped in eight points in the loss. They will face Milwaukee on Saturday.
