Phoenix women open week at Youngstown State

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team kicks off its week on the road in Ohio on Thursday when they battle the Youngstown State Penguins.

 

The Phoenix extended their winning streak to four on Saturday with a 69-51 victory over Wright State at the Kress Events Center. Callie Genke posted a team-best 14 points, while Natalie McNeal and Cassie Schiltz chipped in 13. Jasmine Kondrakiewicz, Jenna Guyer. Miah Meyer added eight points apiece, and Guyer just missed out on a double-double with 10 rebounds. Combined with her 15 points on five three-pointers against Northern Kentucky last Thursday, the Luxemburg-Casco alum Schiltz was tabbed the Horizon League Player of the Week.

 

The Penguins come into the game 7-8 overall, including 2-3 in the Horizon League. They have lost their last three Horizon League games after opening the campaign with wins against Milwaukee and Northern Kentucky.

 

Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
