After Luxemburg-Casco kicked things off with a tournament on Friday, the area's other wrestling teams will fan out on Saturday with invitationals of their own.
The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team made the most of their trip to Port Washington on Friday, winning The Duffy Tournament title. The Spartans scored 168 points as a team, edging second-place Aquinas by four points. The team was led by Carson Neubert's title at 126 pounds and second-place finishes by Carson Blohowiak (120 lbs), Blakelee Bastien (144 lbs), and Logan Ellwanger (165 lbs). Four other wrestlers also placed.
The Spartans girls will join Bark River-Harris, Bonduel, Crivitz, Lena, Marinette, Menominee (MI), Oostburg, Oshkosh West, Peshtigo, Stevens Point Areas Senior High School, Suring, West De Pere, and Winneconne for tournament in Peshtigo that begins at 9 a.m.
The Southern Door girls head to an even bigger tournament that also begins at 9 a.m. in Muskego. Hamilton, Wisconsin Lutheran, Beaver Dam, Hartford Union, Eau Claire Memorial, Watertown, Martin Luther, Oak Creek, West Bend East, Catholic Central, Badger, Delavan-Darien, Westosha Central, Kettle Moraine, Milwaukee Hamilton, Stoughton, Waukesha West, Horicon, Oregon, DeForest, Brown Deer, Clinton, East Troy, Fort Atkinson, Greenfield, Hustisford, Lomira, Monroe, Mukwonago, New Berlin West, Parkview, Plymouth, Turner, Whitefish Bay, Whitewater, Whitnall, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Indian Trail & Academy, Wilmot Union, Pius XI and Brookfield East are all scheduled to compete.
The Southern Door boys and both Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol squads will compete in New London beginning at 9:30 a.m. Crivitz, Ashwaubenon, Berlin, Brillion, Campbellsport, De Pere, Dodgeland, Fond du Lac, Green Lake/Princeton, Laona-Wabeno, Manawa, Oshkosh North, Random Lake, St. Croix Falls, and Waupaca are among the teams scheduled to compete on the boys side while the girls will see competition from Fond du Lac, Oshkosh North, Pulaski, Ashwaubenon, Brillion, Campbellsport, Crivitz, De Pere, Dodgeland, Manawa, Random Lake, St. Croix Falls, Laona-Wabeno, Waupaca, Berlin, and Green Lake/Princeton.
