The area's wrestlers went every which way on Saturday for tournaments across the state.
Both Luxemburg-Casco girls wrestlers came back with silver from the Peshtigo girls tournament on Saturday. Evelyn Lange and Kiley Georgel each took second place, going a combined 3-2 on the day.
It was another week and another title for Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol's Spencer Madsen. Madsen captured the 165 lb crown at the Cutler Classic hosted by New London. He pinned his first opponent before registering tech falls in his final two. Seth Laughlin took third place at 285 lbs and four others placed. In the girls bracket, both Izzy Andreae and Lanie Brauer made the third place match in their respective weight classes with Brauer ending her tournament day with a win for the second straight weekend.
No matter where you saw Southern Door Eagles wrestlers, it seemed like medals were close behind. Every wrestler placed at the Cutler Classic, with Lance Veeser leading the way with a second place finish after losing to county rival Spencer Madsen in the championship match at 165 pounds. Clark LeFevre and Chance Dekeyser also placed by winning their final match of the day. At the Warrior Cup Girl`s Invitational in Muskego, Sydney Turner went 3-1 en route to a third place finish at 138 lbs. Two other wrestlers finished the day in the Top 8.
