With the WIAA postseason looming, several teams are heading out of town to get more matches under their belt this weekend.
Half of Southern Door's girls wrestling team drove home from Shawano with hardware after its tournament on Friday. Nora LeFevre led the Eagles with her second place finish, winning three contested matches before falling to Dakotah Athey of Bay Port in the championship match. Sydney Turner took third place with three pins in her four contested matches. Portia Hah took fifth place overall, going 3-2 on the night.
Luxemburg-Casco heads to Pulaski for tournament featuring Antigo, Bay Port, Coleman, Crandon, Denmark, Elkhorn, Freedom, Hortonville, Kaukauna, New London, Oconto Falls, Peshtigo, Port Washington, Pulaski, Seymour, and West De Pere. First round matches begin at 10 a.m.
Kewaunee visits for Deerfield for a tournament that is also welcoming Brodhead, DeSoto, Jefferson, Kenosha Christian Life, Lake Mills, Madison La Follette, Martin Luther, Menasha, Milwaukee Bradley Technical, Monona Grove, Poynette, Random Lake, Stoughton, Sun Prairie East, Waterloo, and Waukesha South. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m.
