Phoenix women go back to work against Penguins

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team start their homestand on Thursday night when Youngstown State comes to the Kress Events Center.

 

In their last outing, the Phoenix women beat IU-Indianapolis 76-54. as they  outscored the Jaguars by at least seven points in each of the first three quarters before coasting to the finish line with a 20-plus point advantage. They led for all by 68 seconds as they extended their winning streak to 12, their longest since the 2022-2023 season. Natalie McNeal and Luxemburg-Casco alum Cassie Schiltz each had 15 points, while Jenna Guyer contributed 10 points off the bench.

 

The Penguins have lost three of their last four games, including a 79-56 defeat to Horizon League-leading Purdue-Fort Wayne. In their previous matchup, the Phoenix women beat the Penguins 58-50 after outscoring them 19-9 in the opening quarter.

 

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
