Gamblers edged in shootout by Roughriders

The Cedar Rapids Roughriders gave the Green Bay Gamblers a rough ending to their Friday night, beating them 3-2 in a shootout at the Resch Center.

The game was a see-saw affair the whole night with Zach Wooten (1st period), William Samuelsson (2nd period), and Geno Carcone (2nd period) always having their goals answered with a Roughriders tally. The third period was especially painful for Gamblers fans as came with the Roughriders pulling their goalie and playing for over a minute with an empty net. After a scoreless overtime, the shootout went nine rounds before Amine Hajibi ended it with a goal after securing two assists in regulation. Leo Henriquez took the loss despite stopping 32 of 35 shots.

The Gamblers are back in action for their annual teddy bear toss game against the Chicago Steel at 6:05 p.m.
