A halftime deficit did not stop the Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team from securing their fourth win of the season on Thursday night. They beat Detroit Mercy 75-71.
The Titans made Phoenix fans think their team was heading to a third straight loss before Green Bay rallied with a 10-3 run to make it a 33-30 deficit at halftime. Clutch shooting from Ryan Wade and Mac Wrecke and a strong defensive effort from C.J. O'Hara helped the Phoenix overtake their visitors and lead by as much as six points before settling on the final margin. Jeremiah Johnson paced the Phoenix with 20 points while four other Phoenix players reached double figures, including Marcus Hall (14), Ben Tweedy (13), Mac Wrecke (12), and C.J. O'Hara (11).
The Phoenix men will hopefully dress more than eight players on their senior day this Saturday when they host Oakland in their regular-season finale at 6 p.m.
