For the second straight day, the Southern Door softball team picked up a pair of wins against one team, sweeping Chilton 5-2 and 10-7.
In the first game, the Tigers failed to take advantage of two Eagles errors, allowing their hosts to take a 1-0 lead. After the Tigers tied the game on a homer, the two teams traded runs, putting the Eagles into a 3-2 hole heading into the bottom of the fifth inning. The Eagles hit four straight singles and drew a bases loaded walk to take the lead for good. Lexi Tassoul led the way with two hits while Samantha Melville drove in a pair. Alanah Kaye earned the win in the circle, allowing three runs (2 ER) on seven hits and five strikeouts.
In game two, the two teams scored six runs apiece across the first three innings with a four-run fifth inning proving to be the decider for the Eagles. Reese Vogel and Samantha Melville doubled while Alanah Kaye smacked a three-run homer in the pivotal fifth inning. Kaye, Ashlyn Delfosse, Melville, and Audrey Plzack posted RBI.
