Baseball round-up: Kewaunee set for Fox Cities Stadium game

Area baseball teams may actually see the sun on Saturday after a cloudy and rainy end to the school week.

Gibraltar/Washington Island's Aaron Brey had a no-hitter into the fifth inning and plenty of runs in the bank as the Vikings won their 11th game in a row, beating Peshtigo 8-1 Friday evening.

It was the early and late innings that held all the scoring Friday night as the Sturgeon Bay Clippers come from behind to beat the Southern Door Eagles 6-2 in Brussels.

The Kewaunee Storm baseball team scored three runs in the first inning and let Brett Paulsen do the rest in a 4-0 win over Algoma on Friday.

They only had one less hit than their visitors, but five errors doomed the Sevastopol Pioneers baseball team in their 8-0 loss to Oconto Friday night.

Highlighting Saturday's action is Kewaunee's non-conference game against Two Rivers at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The game will take place following the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers' game against the West Michigan Whitecaps, which play at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday.

Other games on Saturday include Luxemburg-Casco playing a doubleheader at Clintonville (11 a.m.), and Algoma hosting Howards Grove (11 a.m.).
