Opening day for DCBL

The 2025 Door County Baseball League kicks off on Mother’s Day.  Last fall, tie-breaking games were held to position the top four teams for postseason action.  The Kolberg Braves and the Sister Bay Bays were tied for first at the end of last year's season at 12-2. The Bays beat the Braves 3-5 to earn the Regular Season Championship title. The Mets had locked in 3rd place with a 10-4 regular season, but the Washington Island Islanders and Egg Harbor Indians needed a playoff game to nab that 4th place position and go into post-season playoffs.  It was a tight game with Washington Island stealing 4th place with a 4-3 win.

In the first round of post-season action the following week, Kolberg clinched their playoff position by beating Maplewood 6-3. Sister Bay beat out the Island 7-2. This led us to a beautiful Labor Day Weekend in Sister Bay, where the crowds filled the park. Sister Bay came out on top with a 2-0 very defensive win over Kolberg. And here we are entering the 2025 season with these two teams going head to head in Sister Bay on Sunday, May 11th.

In other opening-day action, the West Jacksonport Ports will host their big neighbor rivals, the Egg Harbor Indians. Washington Island travels to Maplewood, and the Bailey Harbor A’s host the Institute Cubs. All games begin at 1:30 p.m.
