Softball: Gibraltar, Sturgeon Bay split doubleheader

It was a busy night for the area's softball teams on Tuesday, three of which were involved in doubleheaders.

 

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team came up empty in its two games against Fox Valley Lutheran on Tuesday, losing the games 3-1 and 6-2.

 

Two runs in the sixth inning gave the Algoma Wolves softball team just enough to get past Oconto on Tuesday, winning the game 4-3. 

 

The Gibraltar/Washington Island softball team scored 23 runs on Tuesday afternoon, but only walked away with a split against Sturgeon Bay, winning the first game 13-0 in six innings before dropping the night cap 13-10.

 

The Sevastopol softball team used 10 hits and seven Blazers errors to win their game against NEW Lutheran on Tuesday by a comfortable 10-2 margin.

 

Southern Door's Alanah Kaye and Ashlyn Delfosse combined to allow just three hits while striking out eight in the team's 3-0 win over Kewaunee on Tuesday.
