Softball round-up: Algoma, Southern Door pick up conference wins

With seeding meetings looming, area softball teams focused on their conference opponents during their matchup on Tuesday.

 

The Southern Door softball team scored two runs to start the game and four more to end it to be NEW Lutheran 6-0 in Green Bay on Tuesday.

 

A pair of three-run innings helped the Luxemburg-Casco softball team leave Freedom with a 6-0 win on Tuesday.

 

They needed 11 runs, 15 hits, and five Pioneers errors to do it, but Algoma softball earned the hard-fought 11-9 win in 10 innings Tuesday night.

 

The Gibraltar softball team was outscored 28-4 across two losses to Oconto on Tuesday, falling 13-3 in the first game and 15-1 in the second game.

 

The Kewaunee softball team's comeback came up just short on Tuesday, falling to Peshtigo 4-3.
