Two local teams will begin their WIAA Softball Tournament journey to Madison on Thursday.

The Gibraltar/Washington Island softball team will turn its attention to the new season on Thursday when it travels to St. Mary Catholic in Neenah to open the 2025 WIAA Tournament. The winner of Thursday's game will travel to Algoma for the regional semifinal on Tuesday. Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 4:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first pitch at 4:30 p.m. 

Sturgeon Bay will open its tournament play at Kiel at 4:30 p.m.

Some of the other teams will use Thursday as an opportunity to get some extra at-bats. Kewaunee hosts Crivitz (4 p.m.), Algoma travels to Peshtigo (4:30 p.m.), and Sevastopol visits Southern Door (4:30 p.m.).
