Algoma is the last local team standing in the WIAA Softball Tournament after four teams entered Thursday with a chance to advance to next week's sectional round.

One inning was the difference as the Algoma softball team advanced to next week's sectional semifinal with a 4-1 win over Packerland Conference rival Sevastopol on Thursday. The Wolves travel to Mishicot for the sectional semifinal on Tuesday.
