Three golfers from the area will head to University Ridge Golf Course in Madison next Monday and Tuesday after successful rounds at WIAA Sectional Meets on Tuesday.
In Division 2, Sturgeon Bay's Tre Wienke took second place overall, tying Little Chute's Shaymus Smith with a score of 79. Luxemburg-Casco's Josh Parins will join him for the trip as he was the last man in with a fifth-place finish at 81, one stroke above the cut-off. Parins helped lead Luxemburg-Casco to a third-place finish in the sectional with a score of 349. The host school, Seymour, won the meet with a score of 316 at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour.
In Division 3, Kewaunee finished in 11th place in tough conditions with a score of 398, 58 strokes behind sectional champion St. Mary Springs. The Storm's Evan Maccaux just missed the cut for Madison by one stroke, pacing the team with a score of 84. Gibraltar's Finn Salm shot an 81 on the course to clinch his berth to the state meet and a second-place finish in sectionals.
