Sturgeon Bay American Legion Baseball had another stellar weekend against some very tough competition in the Fox Valley. Playing Post 38 of Appleton Saturday, the Bays were 9-2 winners. It was their third consecutive win against a AAA American legion team.
A five run first inning proved to be more than enough Saturday. Austin Rohe added a three-run homerun in the second to aid Riley Cordier and Lucas Stephenson’s cause on the hill. The two combined for the win.
Michael Larsen had a three hit game including two singles, a double and three RBI’s. Other players with multi-hit games included Casey Giesseman, Riley Cordier, Jason Lindemann and Austin Rohe.
Apparently Sturgeon Bay used up all of their fire power in game one because they fell 12-2 to Menasha in game two of the doubleheader. Casey Giesseman and Jason Lindemann had two hits each in the loss.
After the weekend Sturgeon bay is now (12-6) overall.
