In a game heard on 96.7FM WBDK, Luxemburg-Casco defeated the Seymour Thunder 28-21 in Bay Conference football at Seymour High School Thursday evening.
The opening night thriller saw seven lead changes and many momentum swings. L-C fumbled the opening kick-off and Seymour capitalized to take a 7-0 lead. But two touchdown passes by David Vlotho in the second quarter, including a dazzling double pass to Dylan McGuire propelled the Spartans to a 12-7 halftime lead.
The see-saw affair continued into the fourth quarter when Seymour scored with 6:13 left in fourth quarter to take a 21-20 lead. The Spartans drove 95 yards in seven plays capped on a seven yard run by Kyle Routhieaux to recapture the lead with three minutes remaining. The Spartan defense then held the Thunder on a fourth and three in L-C territory to preserve the win.
Luxemburg-Casco will now take on rival Denmark next Friday night in the Spartan’s home opener. You can listen to the game on 96.7FM WBDK as well as streamed on doorcountydailynews.com.
