Sturgeon Bay Claims Regional Soccer Title

Reid Stevenson scored two of the four Sturgeon Bay goals to help the Clippers claim a regional title in high school boys soccer. The WIAA Division 3 regional final matchup with Sheboygan Lutheran was controlled by the home team. Zach Owens and Sean Sannito also netted a goal apiece for the Clippers. They will match up with N.E.W. Lutheran in the sectional semi-final next Thursday at Dick Clark Field in Sturgeon Bay.

The soccer game will be broadcast on 104.1 FM WRLU. The pre-game show will begin at 6:00 PM with Nick Freimuth and Coach Todd Maas. Sturgeon Bay has topped the Blazers 2-0 in each of their two regular season matchups. Sectional play will begin at 6:30 PM.

N.E.W. Lutheran barely snuck into the sectional semi-final. Gibraltar/Sevastopol took the Blazers into a shootout after a 1-1 tie through two overtimes. N.E.W. Lutheran made all five of their shootout kicks and Northern Door missed one. It was one of the best games in the state this season. Congratulations to Gibraltar/Sevastopol for their tremendous efforts this season.
