Packers Draft Picks: Rounds 4 Through 7

David Bakhtiari – OT

Round 4, Pick 12 (109)


Height: 6’4”

Weight: 299

Bakhtiari started 11 of 12 games in the 2010 season with Colorado at right tackle the moved to the blind side for the 2011 season when teammate Nate Solder went to the NFL. He earned second-team All-Pac for his performance and in 2012 started all 12 games at left tackle.



J.C. Tretter – OT

Round 4, Pick 25 (122)


Height: 6’4”

Weight: 302

As a sophomore at Cornell Tretter played tight end and moved to the left tackle position for the past two seasons. He is the first offensive lineman to earn All-Ivy League First Team honors since Kevin Boothe in 2005.


Johnathan Franklin – RB

Round 4, Pick 28 (125)


Height: 5’10”

Weight: 205

Franklin shined as a sophomore, starting 10 of twelve games and leading the team with 1,127 yards, scoring eight touchdowns. The running back earned the team’s MVP award and second team all conference honors in 2010. As a senior this past season Franklin carried the ball 282 times for more than 1,700 yards and 13 touchdowns. He lead UCLA to the top of the Pac-12 South Division and earned second-team All-Pac 12 honors.



Micah Hyde – CB

Round 5, Pick 26 (159)


Height: 6’0”

Weight: 197

Hyde started 38 games over his final three seasons and grabbed eight interceptions. Last season he recovered three fumbles, returning one for a touchdown. In 2010, as a sophomore, Hyde returned two interceptions for touchdowns. Last season he was the Big Ten’s Tatum-Woodson defensive back of the season and was co-MVP of his team.




Josh Boyd – DE

Round 5, Pick 34 (167)

Mississippi State

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 310

Boyd played in every game his freshman year at Mississippi State and started 41 of 51 games throughout his college career. As a sophomore he racked up 24 tackles in 13 games and kicked it up for his final two seasons. In 2011 he had 51 tackles and 5.5 sacks, in 2012 he had 33 tackles and 1.5 sacks.




Nate Palmer – LB

Round 6, Pick 25 (193)

Illinois State

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 240

Palmer made the all-Missouri Valley Football Conference second team two years during his college career. He had 17 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss and started all 24 contests over the past two seasons. 


Charles Johnson – WR

Grand Valley State

Round 7, Pick 10 (216)

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 215

In 2011 Johnson caught 52 passes for 1,030 yards and 15 touchdowns. In 9 of 11 games the wide receiver caught a touchdown pass and broke the 100-yard receiving mark five times. Johnson earned First-Team All-GLIAC and GVSU offensive skill player of the year honors.


Kevin Dorsey – WR

Round 7, Pick 18 (224)


Height: 6’3”

Weight: 210

As a senior Dorsey started all 12 games at wide receiver and led the team with an average of 17.3 yards per reception. In 2011 he was the No. 1 receiver for Maryland and started in ten games racking up 45 catches for a total of 573 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Throughout his college career he overcame various foot injuries.


Sam Barrington – LB

Round 7, Pick 26 (232

South Florida

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 246

Barrington appeared in all 13 games his freshman year and started one, tallying up 41 tackles. His sophomore year he started 11 of 13 games and finished third in tackles for South Florida with 65. In 2011 Barrington started all 12 games where he racked up 72 tackles, 2.5 sacks and an interception. His senior year he earned a second-team All-Big East nod for 80 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups.
