Wrightstown Tigers Pass To Win Over Eagles

Friday on 102.1 FM WRKU Southern Door hosted Wrightstown and saw the Tigers jump out to an early 21-0 lead. They held on to win 42-26. Wrightstown, a run-first offense, threw four touchdown passes and lead 35-0 after the first half.

Southern Door first got on the scoreboard on their opening drive of the second half that finished with a two yard touchdown run by Mitchel Neubauer. Southern Door scored twice in the third quarter as the second touchdown came on a Micah King 23-yard touchdown run. Neubauer added another rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter to make score 42-18. The Eagles responded after recovering an onside kick with a 38-yard touchdown pass from Neubauer to Mitchell Gerend. That was the final score of the game making the final 42-26.

Neubauer finished 11-of-19 for 137 yards with one touchdown. Micah King led the rushing attack with 54 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, the Eagles got good defensive efforts from freshmen Zach Marchant and Tory Jandrin as both accumulated double digit tackles.

The Eagles fall to (0-3) and will play at Brillion next Friday. Join Nate Alberts and Jared Spude for the Alberts Plastering Pregame Show and kickoff at 7 p.m.
