A first-half lead proved to be just enough as the Green Bay Phoenix women nipped the Norfolk State Spartans 55-54.

The Phoenix carried a 38-18 lead into break, but an 11-0 run in the third quarter put the Spartans in a threatening position in the third quarter. Maddy Schreiber's turn-around jumper with eight seconds remaining proved to be the game winner as she boasted a 23 point morning. Bailey Butler added nine points and Natalie McNeal and Callie Genke each posted eight points in the win.

Packers hook Dolphins for Thanksgiving win

The Green Bay Packers got out to another fast start against the Miami Dolphins en route to a 30-17 victory on Thanksgiving night.

The Packers opening drive stumbled, but the punt returner for the Dolphins fumbled, setting up the short touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Jaden Reed to make it 7-0. They would make it 14-0 at the end of the first quarter when Josh Jacobs scored from one yard out following two long runs from Emmanuel Wilson. The Dolphins would finally get on the scoreboard with a field goal at the beginning of the second quarter, only to have the Packers answer with Reed's second touchdown grab and another field goal to make it 24-3 at the break.

After another Brandon McManus field goal made it 27-3, the Dolphins were finally able to cross the goalline with Tua Tagovailoa throwing a pair of touchdowns, with the second coming off of a deflection. McManus kicked his third field goal between the two touchdown passes to cap the scoring for the Packers.

Love finished his night going 21-28 for 274 yards and two touchdowns. Jacobs was kept in check with 43 yards rushing with a touchdown.

The Packers are back in action next Thursday night when they try to snap the Lions' long winning streak after they beat the Bears 23-20 at Ford Field.

Callie Genke led the Phoenix off the bench with a season-high 18 points. Natalie McNeal and Cassie Schiltz each added 12 points with McNeal crossing the 1,000 point threshold.

The Phoenix will take on Drake on Friday in the second game of the Discover Puerto Rico Tournament.

A 44-18 run to close out the game took a potential upset bid by the Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team and turned it into a 102-69 blowout victory for the Buckeyes of Ohio State.

Anthony Roy once again made life difficult for opposing defenders, knocking down contested shots from all over the court as he hit eight three-pointers en route to a 30-point performance. Packers breathe easy after win over 49ers

After several one-score games, the Green Bay Packers put together one of their most complete games of the season, beating the injury-plagued San Francisco 49ers 38-10 on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

It was 17-0 before the 49ers could score, thanks to a short touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Tucker Kraft and the first of three rushing scores by Josh Jacobs. George Kittle reached the endzone at the end of the first half, but a field goal near the end of the third quarter would be all the Packer's defense would allow for the rest of the game. Meanwhile, Josh Jacobs scored rushing touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters, and Malik Heath found the end zone through the air to cap off the scoring. In addition to his three rushing touchdowns, Jacobs crossed the century mark on the ground while Love threw for 163 yards and two scores of his own. The defense made life difficult for Brandon Allen behind center, allowing just 199 yards while turning him over twice.

The Packers will have a short week before they host the Miami Dolphins on Thursday at Lambeau Field for a 7:20 p.m. kickoff.

Phoenix men battle Buckeyes

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team will play their last game before Thanksgiving on Monday when they face the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Phoenix's road trip got off on the wrong foot on Friday when they could not

catch up with the Evansville Purple Aces in a 98-81 defeat. The host Purple Aces shot nearly 60 percent from the field and 43 percent from behind the arc in the rout. The Phoenix could not compete with the Purple Aces' height either, getting outscored 52-30 in the paint. Anthony Roy had another strong outing with a game-high 31 points as he battled foul trouble for most of the night. Marcus Hall added 17 points and Jeremiah Johnson chipped in 11 points in the loss.

The Buckeyes humbled Evansville 80-30 in their matchup before the Phoenix had a chance to play them. They played the Phoenix's next opponent, Campbell, on Friday and registered a 104-60 victory. Six players reached 11 points or more in the contest, including 23 points by John Mobley, Jr.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Seven Football Champions Crowned

Seven champions were crowned at the 48th State Football Championships at Camp Randall Stadium this week.

Bay Port (12-2) wasted no time taking control of the Division 1 championship game by possessing a 19-0 lead at halftime en route to a 25-18 win over Muskego (9-5). The Warriors came to life in the second half with a pair of touchdowns and a field goal, but could not produce points in their final two drives.

The Pirates outgained the Warriors 259-20 in total offense in the first half and 397-203 in the game. They also held a commanding lead in time of possession with a 10:33 advantage.

Brady Moon amassed 241 yards rushing, which ranks fifth-most in Division 1 State finals history.  He scored on runs of 80, 4 and 67 yards. Moon also led the Pirates in receiving with three catches for 29 yards. Matt Stevens ran for 70 yards and completed 7-of-9 passes for 82 yards.  Defensively, the Bay Port was led by Nick Hawker with eight tackles, including two quarterback sacks.

Bay Port won its first State championship in its second State final. The Pirates only other experience in the final in 2019 resulted in a runner-up finish to Muskego. This time around, the Warriors finish runner-up in their fourth State finals appearance.

The Division 2 championship game was closely contested throughout, and Slinger (14-0) completed an undefeated by edging Rice Lake (11-3) 31-30. The statistics also revealed a competitive contest. The Owls possessed a slight 316-303 advantage in total offense yardage.

The Owls fought back from a 24-14 second quarter deficit to tie the game at 24-24 midway through the third quarter. After the Warriors scored on a 75-yard drive with 9:25 remaining in the fourth quarter, a failed two-point attempt would prove to be the difference. Slinger scored the game-winning touchdown and extra-point with 3:29 remaining in the game after recovering a Rice Lake fumble on the Warriors’ 34-yard line.

Michael Thiede led the Owls offensively. He completed 12-of-15 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown, and he led the team in rushing with 48 yards and two scores. Brayden Schnorenberg was on the receiving end of four passes for 78 yards, and Lucas Sonn caught four tosses for 58 yards and a touchdown. Kaiden Walworth led the Owls’ defense with 11 tackles and the game-changing forced fumble.

The Warriors’ offensive production came almost exclusively from the ground game. Connor Durand led all rushers with 123 yards, and Lucas Peters contributed with 82 yards and two touchdowns. Grant Pacholke attempted only four passes, completing two for 17 yards. Pacholke was the team leader on defense with 11 tackles and a forced fumble.

In its third appearance in the title game, Slinger won its second championship. Rice Lake, the Division 3 champion last season, finishes runner-up in its ninth experience in the final.

Notre Dame (14-0) secured a perfect season with a 49-28 win over Catholic Memorial (11-3) in a record-ladened Division 3 championship game.

The two teams combined to score a Division 3 record of 77 points and compiled 805 yards of total offense with the Tritons outgaining the Crusaders 459-346.

Catholic Memorial couldn’t contain the running of Christian Collins behind a stalwart offensive line. Collins shattered the State record for all divisions with 408 rushing yards on 39 carries, which broke the Division 3 mark. His five touchdowns also eclipsed the Division 3 record and tied the all-division mark. In addition, Collins’ 431 all-purpose yards set a Division 3 mark. The Tritons were led on defense by James Flanigan with nine tackles, including four for loss.

MJ Mitchell’s record-breaking performance was tarnished by the defeat, but he threw for a Division 3 record 307 yards for the Crusaders. Mitchell completed 15-of 26 passes and threw a Division 3 record four touchdowns. He also led the team with 23 rushing yards. Marvanous Butler-Brown was Mitchell’s favorite target, catching eight passes for a Division 3 record 160 yards and two touchdowns, which tied the division record.

Notre Dame won its third State championship in its fifth appearance in the title game, and Catholic Memorial finished runner-up in its 10th final experience.

Racine St. Catherine’s (14-0) finished the season undefeated to win the Division 4 State championship following a 26-22 triumph over Baldwin-Woodville (12-2) in the final.

The Angels led 20-0 on scoring tosses from Eddie Vinson to Lamont Hamilton of 59, 23 and 49 yards.

The Blackhawks scored midway through the third quarter to narrow their deficit to 20-8, but Hamilton’s lightning struck again on the ensuing kickoff racing 83 yards down the sideline to expand the Angels’ lead to 26-8 with 6:33 remaining in the third quarter. The return is the longest in Division 4 State final history. Baldwin-Woodville scored a touchdown on two consecutive drives, but a valiant comeback attempt fell short deep in Angel’s territory with an intercepted pass by Isaac Cantu with 28 seconds remaining.

Hamilton’s 155 yards receiving and three touchdowns also set new standards in Division 4. He also led the team in rushing with 33 yards and completed one pass attempt for 28 yards. Vinson completed 7-of-14 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns. Isaiah Taylor led the Angels’ defense with 12 tackles.

Baldwin-Woodville had a pair of runners eclipse the 100-yard plateau and outgained the Angels in total offense 369 to 290 but committed four turnovers. Gavin Sell led all rushers with 145 yards and a touchdown, and Taden Holldorf added 137 yards on the ground and a score. Sell completed 5-of-10 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Racine St. Catherine’s wins it second title in two finals appearances, and Baldwin-Woodville finishes runner-up in its fifth experience in the championship game.

In the duel of two teams nicknamed the Tigers, Stratford (14-0) capped an undefeated season by winning its third State championship in a row, downing Wrightstown (12-2) 21-6 in the Division 5 title game.

Stratford moved up a division this season after winning Division 6 championships the past two seasons. The title is the program’s 10th, which leads all member schools.

After a scoreless first quarter, Stratford got on the board first with a 91-yard drive in the second quarter. Wrightstown cut the deficit to 7-6 on the ensuing drive on a 61-yard dash by Trevor Vande Hey. Stratford scored late in the first quarter to take a 14-6 lead into halftime and added insurance with a touchdown midway through the third quarter.

Brooks Vanderhoof ran for 137 yards and a touchdown, and Jack Tubbs added 94 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Tubbs also completed all five of his pass attempts for 31 yards and a touchdown. Xander Curtice led the team defensively with seven tackles, including three for loss and two sacks.

Vande Hey ran for 83 yards and threw for 80 yards, completing 5-of-11 passes to lead Wrightstown offensively. Kaden Colwell made a game-high 11 tackles, including two for loss to head the defense.

Stratford wins the title in its 12th State finals appearance, and Wrightstown finishes runner-up for the second year in a row, making the program’s fifth trip to the finals.

In a battle of two programs advancing to the championship game for the first time, Lomira (12-2) won the Division 6 title with a 26-19 victory over Grantsburg (12-2) in final.

After Grantsburg scored on its opening drive, the Lions responded with 20 straight points to take control of the game. Brock Matheny paced the offensive with 283 yards throwing, completing 24-of-37 attempts, which are all Division 6 records. Daxter Schultz, Caden Matheny and Dane Lozier all made five receptions in the game, which ties for fourth-most in a Division 6 final. Ian Burkman rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Brady Burton led the Pirates defense with 10 tackles.

Edgar (13-1) won its second consecutive Division 7 title with a 19-0 shutout over Potosi/Cassville (13-1) in the championship final. The game featured a pair of stout defenses. The combined 277 yards yielded by the two defenses set a Division 7 mark for the fewest yards of total offense in a game.

Edgar scored two touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 12-0 lead. The Wildcats added a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to account for the final score.

The Edgar offense was limited to 119 yards. Maverick Butt ran for 45 yards and a touchdown, and he caught one pass for eight yards and a score to lead the Wildcats. Packers look to reverse fate vs. 49ers

The Green Bay Packers will try to erase some old demons on Sunday when they welcome the San Francisco 49ers to Lambeau Field.

The Packers escaped Soldier Field with a 20-19 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. A long pass to Christian Watson set up the Packers' final touchdown as Love snuck in from the one-yard line to make it 20-19. The Bears would drive into field goal range, but a premeditated field goal block play gave the Packers their 11th straight win over the Bears. It was a game the Packers were lucky to win as the Bears held the ball for 13 more minutes, gained 30 more yards, and were 12-19 and third and fourth down conversion compared to just 1-6.

The 49ers have split their last six games as they have had to deal with injuries to Nick Bosa, Brock Purdy, and Christian McCaffrey. The Packers have lost four of their last six to the 49ers and they have not beaten San Francisco in a game that has been played later than November 15th since 2010 (0-6).

Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m.

Gamblers battle Team USA for weekend set

The Green Bay Gamblers have one last road trip against Team USA this weekend before a three-game homestand next week at the Resch Center.

A shootout win on Saturday salvaged last weekend's set in Fargo for the Green Bay Gamblers. In Friday's 3-2 loss, a first period goal by the Force proved to be the difference as both teams netted two goals in the second frame. Will Zellers and Vasily Zelenov scored the goals while Lukas Peterson registered two points on assists. In their 4-3 shootout win, the Gamblers saw their 3-1 third period lead vanish before Peterson provided the difference in the shootout. Aidan Park scored twice on either side of Peterson's tally to give the Gamblers the advantage in the second frame.

Team USA is going through its roughest portion of the season as they sit in last place in the conference with a 3-10-0 mark.

The playoffs were again expanded to include six divisions in 1981. In 1996, the playoff field was further expanded to 192 teams qualifying for the postseason. In 2002, the tournament expanded to its current seven-divisions format with 224 teams. The championships have all been at Camp Randall Stadium since 1982. The finals were not conducted in 2020 during the COVID?pandemic. St. Mary’s Springs and Stratford have won the most championships with nine. Edgar and Kimberly have the second-most number of State titles with eight. Lancaster and Waunakee are next on the list with seven. Arrowhead, Homestead and Monroe have each won six titles. Catholic Memorial, D.C. Everest, Menomonie and Osseo-Fairchild each have won five. Edgar leads the membership in title game appearances with 15. Arrowhead, Darlington and St. Mary’s Springs are next with 13. Stratford and Waunakee follow on the list with 12. Lancaster has 11 appearances, and Kimberly. and Catholic Memorial have 10.

DIVISION 1 NOTES:  The final features a rematch of the 2019 championship game, which resulted in a 21-10 Muskego victory. That runner-up finish accounts for the one previous time Bay Port advanced to the final. This fall, they finished second in the North Division of the Fox River Classic Conference standings. Their road to the title game culminated with a 34-27 win over D.C. Everest in their State semifinal. The Pirates averaged 36.6 points per game during the regular season and are averaging 46.5 points per game in the playoffs. That 2019 championship game victory gave Muskego back-to-back titles after winning its first State title in 2018. This will be the Warriors’ fourth experience in the championship game. Their first resulted in a runner-up finish in 1994. They finished fourth in the Classic Eight Conference this fall. The Warriors defeated Mukwonago 16-14 in the semifinal to continue their quest for the program’s third championship. If the Warriors proceed to win the title, their 10-4 record would represent the most losses by a Division 1 champion in the history of the tournament.

DIVISION 2 NOTES:  Defending Division 3 champion Rice Lake moves up a bracket to advance to the title game in Division 2 this season. The Warriors are making their ninth trip to the State final and its third in the past four seasons. They tied for second place in the Big Rivers Conference this fall. The Warriors advance to the title game by defeating West De Pere in their semifinal game, 31-24. The Owls finished runners-up in 1997 and won the crown in 1998. This season, they are the champions of the North Shore Conference. Their return to the final for the first time in 26 years comes by virtue of a 35-28 victory over former defending champion Badger in the semifinals. Their average scoring margin of victory during the regular season this season was 39-14.

DIVISION 3 NOTES: The game is a rematch between the two teams that battled for the titles in 2015 and 2016. Catholic Memorial is appearing in the title game for the fifth time in the last six championship finals, not including the COVID-19 year when a championship game was not conducted. It will be the 10th time the Crusaders advance to the championship final overall. They are in pursuit of the program’s sixth championship. The Crusaders won the Division 4 title in 2019 and 2021 after moving down a division from Division 3, where they won State titles in 2012, 2016 and 2018. In addition, the Crusaders were runners-up in Division 2 in 2001, in Division 3 in 2010 and 2015, and in Division 4 in 2022. Before joining the WIAA, the Crusaders won WISAA titles in 1979, 1989, 1993 and 1996. They were also runners-up six times. This season, they tied for first place in the Parkland Conference standings with Wauwatosa East. Notre Dame is making its fifth appearance in the State final and its first since back-to-back experiences vs. Catholic Memorial in 2015 and 2016 championship games, winning the title in 2015 and finishing runner-up in 2016. The Tritons also won the title in 2003. Their first experience in the title game resulted in a runner-up finish in 2000. They are the champions in the South Division of Fox River Classic Conference this season and advance to the final following a 41-21 win over La Crosse Logan in the semifinals. Prior to joining the WIAA, the Tritons played in four Division 1 title games of the now defunct WISAA organization. They won a title in 1992 and finished runner-up in 1995, 1997 and 1998.

DIVISION 4 NOTES:  Baldwin-Woodville is back in the State finals for the first time in 30 years and for the fifth time overall. The Blackhawks have won two championships. They earned the titles in Division 4 in 1987 and 1992. Their two runner-up finishes were in Division 3 in 1981 and in Division 4 in 1994. The Blackhawks cruised to a 40-16 victory over Winneconne in the semifinal. They are the champions in the Middle Border Conference this season. Baldwin-Woodville features a prolific offense averaging over 45 points a game this season, including 47 points per game in four playoff games. Racine St. Catherine’s is making its second appearance in the title game. The Angels’ only other experience resulted in a State championship in 2018. Their return to Camp Randall comes by virtue of a 12-6 win over former three-time Division 5 defending champion Aquinas in their semifinal matchup. The Angels are the champions in the Metro Classic Conference this fall. Racine St. Catherine’s stout defense has only allowed 65 points heading into action Thursday, yielding just 6.5 point per game. The most points surrendered by the Angels this season was the 14 yielded to Mount Horeb/Barneveld at the sectional level.

DIVISION?5 NOTES:  Last year’s runner-up Wrightstown is pursuing its fourth championship in the Tigers’ fifth State championship game appearance. They won State championships in each of its two Division 4 experiences in 2006 and 2011. The Tigers also captured the Division 5 championship in 1998. They defeated Northwestern 47-16 in the semifinal to advance to the title game. The Tigers finished runner-up in the North Eastern Conference this year. They have outscored their four playoff opponents by a combined average of 30 points per game. Two-time defending Division 6 champion Stratford moves up a division to return to the championship game for the 12th time in pursuit of its membership-leading 10th State title. The Tigers are the only program in State history to win six straight titles, all coming in Division 6 from 2003-08. They also won the Division 5 crown in 1986. Stratford recorded runner-up finishes in Division 5 in 2018 and 2019. This season, Stratford won the title in the Large Division of the Central Wisconsin Conference. Packers to induct Murphy into Hall of Fame

The Green Bay Packers' farewell tour to President and CEO Mark Murphy will end next August when he is officially inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame.

Murphy has been impactful in his 17 years on the job for the Packers. The team has has made 12 playoff trips during his tenure, advancing to five NFC title games and winning Super Bowl XLV. He has also overseen more than $600 million in Lambeau Field improvements, the development of Titletown, and he will end his tenure with welcoming the 2025 Draft. According to Packers.com, Murphy is humbled by the honor, saying "To see the thousands of people who come out, it really gives you a sense of how special the support that we get from our fans. The connection that our fans have to the Packers is pretty unique and I think a lot of it goes back to our ownership structure."

He will be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame on Thursday, August 28th.

Packers tip Bears in road win

One point equals the length of Karl Brooks' outstretched fingers as the Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears on the lakefront Sunday afternoon 20-19.

The game started easy enough for the Packers as they scored on a 15-yard pass to Jayden Reed to make it 7-0. The Bears' defense would stiffen up for the rest of the half while their offense refused to get off the field. They kicked a field goal in the first quarter and a Jordan Love interception turned into a long touchdown drive to make it 10-7 Bears at halftime. After the Bears opened the third quarter with a field goal, Josh Jacobs was able to punch in a score from seven yards out to make it 14-13. It would be a short-lived advantage as De'Andre Swift was able to gallop into the endzone from 39 yards out to give the Bears a 19-14 after the failed two-point conversion. A long pass to Christian Watson set up the Packers' final touchdown as Love snuck in from the one-yard line to make it 20-19. That would set up the dramatics on the final drive of the day with Caleb Williams escaping a third straight sack to find Rome Odunze for a long completion.

However, it was the Packers that improved to 7-3 and return to Lambeau this Sunday to face the 49ers.

Phoenix basketball splits weekend non-conference games

It was a weekend of mixed results for the Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams as the men dropped a hard-fought game to Providence while the women snuck out of North Dakota with their second consecutive win.

In Saturday's 79-65 loss to the Friars, the Phoenix men had things tied at 36 at the break and had a slim two-point lead late in the second half. A 12-0 Friars put them ahead 55-50 lead, and they never looked back. Marcus Hall led the way with 19 points, while Anthony Roy added 17 points, and Jeremiah Johnson contributed another 10 points. They host Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on Tuesday.

In Sunday's 66-63 win over the Fighting Eagles, the Phoenix women were able to grind out slim advantages in each of the final three quarters thanks to a balanced scoring attack and timely defense. Maddy Schreiber the Phoenix with 13 points, while Cassie Schiltz added another 12 points. Three players, Natalie McNeal, Jenna Guyer, and Bailey Butler, scored eight points apiece. They host DePaul on Thursday.

Gamblers split against the Force

A shootout win on Saturday salvaged a weekend set in Fargo for the Green Bay Gamblers.

The Gamblers head to Michigan this coming weekend to face Team USA.

Packers, Bears renew rivalry Sunday

The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears renew acquaintances on the lakefront for a noon kickoff on Sunday.

The Packers needed the bye week to dry out after being washed away by the rain and a superior Detroit Lions team on Sunday, losing the game 24-14 at soggy Lambeau Field. With the score 10-3 and inside of a minute to go in the second quarter, the Packers' Jordan Love threw a back-breaking pick-six touchdown that gave the Lions a two-touchdown lead at the break. The Packers continued to pile up yards without results in the second half, with the Packers only able to trade a touchdown with a field goal to make it 24-6 Lions late. Emmanuel Wilson's two-yard touchdown in garbage time late made the game closer but still sent the Packers to 0-2 in the NFC North for the first time in nearly a decade.

The Bears have had their struggles as of late, chasing a three-game winning streak with a similar losing skid, including the last two games out of their bye week. The organization fired its offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron, to kick off their Packers prep week, elevating its passing game coordinator, Thomas Brown, to the post.

Spartans boast 10 selections to All-NEC Football team

There was plenty of maroon and gold on the list when the North Eastern Conference announced their All-Conference teams last week.

The list was highlighted by RB Andrew Klass, the lone Spartans player named First-Team All-NEC. OL Mathew Koss, FL/UT and OLB Braydon Loritz, DT Myles Jandrin, DE Caleb Salentine, and DB Gage Delcore were placed on the Second Team. Jandrin (OL) and Klass (OLB) also joined ILB Bryce Dhuey on the Honorable Mention team.

You can find the full listing here.

Green Bay women head to North Dakota Sunday

The Green Bay women's basketball team looks for their second win of the season on Sunday when they battle the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

In their last game, the Phoenix women needed a 15-0 run late to knock down the UIC Flames 74-71. The team fell behind early for a third consecutive game, finding itself down 26-18 after the first quarter despite jumping out to an 8-0 lead at the opening whistle. The Phoenix chipped away at it during the second quarter before outscoring their hosts 22-12 in the final stanza. Maddy Schreiber led the way with 25 points, while Natalie McNeal (15 points) and Jenna Guyer (11 points) made big buckets and critical free throws late to preserve the victory. It was head coach Kayla Karius' first win at the helm of the Phoenix.

The Fighting Hawks are 2-0 on the year after their Monday matchup against Youngstown State was canceled. They beat Dickinson State and Eastern Illinois for their early-season victories.

The two teams meet in Grand Forks for a 2 p.m. tip.

Phoenix battle Friars in Saturday matinee

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team continues its road swing on Saturday when they face Providence.

In their last game,  the Phoenix men nearly led wire-to-wire in an 87-73 win over Western Illinois. An 8-0 run sparked the Phoenix's offense to build a lead of over 20 points before the Leathernecks could cut into the lead late. Thanks to eight made three-pointers, Anthony Roy led the Phoenix with 35 points. Jeremiah Johnson chipped in 15 points, and Foster Wonders scored 11 in the victory. It was head coach Doug Gottlieb's first official win as a Division 1 basketball coach.

The Friars of the Big East Conference have started their season 3-0, picking up victories over Central Connecticut, Stonehill, and Hampton.

AVCA names Frey and Vander Velden to All-Region team

The postseason awards keep rolling in for members of the Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team.

The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced their All-Region volleyball teams this week, placing outside hitters Ella Vander Velden and Aubrey Frey on the Region 6 squad. Region 6 is made up of volleyball players from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. More than two dozen from Wisconsin made the list, with state champion Divine Savior Holy Angels leading the way with five honorees.

The number of athletes chosen for each All-Region Team is determined by the amount of AVCA High School All-America nominations received for that region. The top 50% of nominated athletes, as selected by the AVCA High School Regional Committees, are named to their respective All-Region team. The 2024 AVCA High School All-America Teams will be announced on November 18. Athletes that made one of the All-Region Teams are eligible to be considered for the All-American Teams, which will include a First Team, a Second Team, a Third Team, and Honorable Mention selections.

This is the second post-season award Vander Velden has earned this week after being named to the WVCA All-State Tournament team.

Gamblers travel to Fargo for weekend set

The Green Bay Gamblers' seven-game road trip continues with games against the Fargo Force on Friday and Saturday.

In their last game, the Gamblers scored a goal on Saturday, with Will Zellers lighting the lamp in periods one and two. Vasily Zelenov scored his goal in the third period to lead the team to a 3-2 victory over Dubuque. The Fighting Saints made a charge late with two goals with 45 seconds of each with less than four minutes to go. Gavin Moffatt withstood the man advantage in the final minutes, securing the win with 21 saves on 23 shots faced. The win was the Gamblers' third straight. The team's success led to Lukas Peterson earning defenseman of the week honors, and Moffatt captured goalie of the week honors for the second time this season.

The Force have split their four games this season, including a 1-1 record against the Lincoln Stars last weekend. They currently sit in third place in the Western Conference with 19 points, three points behind first-place Lincoln and Waterloo.

Friday's game will start at 7:05 p.m., while Saturday's puck drop will be one hour earlier, at 6:05 p.m.

One Barrel 2.62 Run next on Run the Door docket

Spartans' Kaminski and Vander Velden earn All-State Tournament nods

Postseason honors continue to roll in for two Luxemburg-Casco volleyball players following last weekend's WIAA State Tournament at the Resch Center.

Libero Rylan Kaminski and Outside Hitter Ella Vander Velden each earned All-State Tournament recognition from the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association, joining Shawano's Gracie Buss, St. Thomas More's Hailey Goebel, and Catholic Memorial's Adeline Goedheer, Addison Kelenic, and Jenna Welsch.

In two matches, Vandervelden recorded 16 kills, while Kaminski registered 31 digs. The pair led the Spartans to their second silver ball since 2017.

Gottlieb, Karius pick up first wins as Phoenix coaches

Both Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams picked up their first wins of the season on Wednesday night in Illinois.

In Macomb, Ill., the Phoenix men nearly led wire-to-wire in an 87-73 win over Western Illinois.

In Chicago, the Phoenix women needed a 15-0 run late to knock down the UIC Flames 74-71.

The Phoenix men will travel to Providence for a 4 p.m. matchup on Saturday, while the women play at North Dakota at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Packers getting healthier ahead of Bears matchup

The bye week may have done the Green Bay Packers good in terms of getting the team healthy ahead of Sunday's clash with the Chicago Bears.

Only DE Colby Wooden did not practice on Wednesday, according to Packers.com. Jaire Alexander, Kenny Clark, Josh Jacobs, MarShawn Lloyd, Josh Myers, and Evan Williams were all limited participants, while Jordan Love and Kingsley Enagbare were designated as full participants. Lloyd is still within his 21-day window of being activated from the injured reserve list.

The Bears have nine players on their injury list, five of which did not practice on Wednesday.

The Bears and Packers play at noon on Sunday on the lakefront.

WIAA 8-Player Football Championship scheduled for Saturday

THE CHAMPIONSHIP: The sixth Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association 8-Player Football State Championship final will feature Owen-Withee (11-0) vs. Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas and will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School at 1 p.m.

ADMISSION?TICKETS: The WIAA uses GoFan Ticketing for all digital and cashless tickets. Admission is $11 plus online fees for adults and students. All tickets must be redeemed on a mobile device. To purchase tickets, visit the WIAA?website at:  https://gofan.co/app/school/WIAAWI.

LIVE STREAMED ON WIAA.TV:  The 8-player football championship game will be streamed live on the WIAA.TV portal of the NFHS?Network on a consumer subscription basis. To purchase a subscription to the live programming, log-on to www.wiaa.tv and click on the “Subscribe”?link at the top of the page. Archived streams of the games will be available on demand on the NFHS?Network 72 hours after the tournament with a subscription.

THE MATCH-UP:  Both Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas and Owen-Withee will be making their first appearance in the 8-player championship game. Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas has qualified for the 8-player football playoffs in each of the last four seasons of the tournament. Prior to this season, the Titans’ furthest advance in the bracket was to the second round in 2021 and 2022. Before transitioning to 8-player, the co-op qualified for the 11-player playoff field in Division 6 three times and were eliminated from title contention in the first round in each of their previous experiences. Lena, as a stand-alone program, advanced to the third round of the playoffs in Division 6 in 1991, which accounts for its only stand-alone experience. The Titans were the runners-up in the Across the Bay Conference this fall. They earned the opportunity to play for the championship after beating Northwood/Solon Springs 38-14 in their State semifinal matchup. Owen-Withee has qualified for the playoffs for the second time. The Blackhawks qualified last season and lost to their opening-round foe. Prior to the transition to 8-player, the Blackhawks qualified 18 times in the 11-player playoffs, compiling a 31-15 record. They won Division 6 championships in 1992 and 1999, and were the 2014 champion in Division 7. Owen-Withee is the champion in the East Division of the North Central Conference this season. The Blackhawks advance to the title game following a 23-21 win over Highland in their State semifinal game played at Stanley-Boyd.

2023 CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP:  Florence (11-0) capped an undefeated season by winning the State 8-player football championship with a 32-30 victory over Thorp (9-3) at South Wood County Stadium. Florence held the edge in total offense, outgaining Thorp 485-432, including 480 yards rushing, which ranks second most in a State 8-player championship game. The Bobcats dominated the time of possession in the game, controlling the ball for 30:48 compared to 17:12 for the Cardinals. Logen Schuls led Florence in rushing with 272 yards and two scores, and Willliam Kelley rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns. Kelley also completed just 1-of-5 passes for five yards. Defensively, Dustin Williams picked off two Thorp passes. Denzel Sutton led the Thorp offense with 355 yards of total offense. He rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns, and he completed 14-of-22 passes for 220 yards and two scores. Logan Hanson rushed for 77 yards and caught three passes for 32 yards and a score. Braden Schultze led all pass catchers with five receptions for 53 yards, and Landon Penk caught three passes for a game-high 75 yards. Hanson also led the Cardinals on defense with 13 tackles and an interception.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME HISTORY:  Sevastopol defeated Luck 38-30 in the first title game played at Stanley-Boyd in 2018. The first year featured an eight-team bracket that was expanded to a 16-team bracket in 2019. There was no championship game in 2020 because of COVID-19 guidelines and accommodations when only one level of the playoff was offered. Newman Catholic is the only program to have won two 8-player football titles. Newman Catholic and Luck have played in the most championship games with three.

REDUCED PLAYER FOOTBALL HISTORY:  Reduced-player football has had a long history in the association. The WIAA?introduced a reduced-player football option for the first time in 1937 with a 6-player opportunity intended to serve small schools. An  8-player option was introduced a few years later, and prior to 1941, there were 90 schools playing either 6- or 8-player football. World War II had an impact as the number of reduced-player teams declined to 70. In 1950, there were 50 6-player teams and 26 8-player squads. By 1956, the 8-player game had all but replaced the six-player option as 71 programs were playing 8-player to only six schools sponsoring the 6-player option. By 1969, almost every football program was 11-player with the number of teams playing eight-player dwindling to six. In 2012, the WIAA reinstated reduced-player football with 16 teams optioning for the eight-player format that season. For six seasons, the top four teams in two separate regions were afforded an opportunity to match-up and play in a four-game jamboree at the end of the season. In 2018, the 8-player football began with an eight-team playoff, which expanded to 16 teams in 2019.

FACTS &?FIGURES: There were 66 programs sponsoring 8-player football in 2024 and 50 were tournament eligible. There are several schools participating in the 8-player program that are ineligible for the post-season tournament because their three-year average enrollment exceeds 200, which is the threshold to be eligible for the 8-player tournament.

KEY DIFFERENCES IN THE GAME: In addition to only eight players on the field for each side, the game differs slightly from the 11-player format both in the field configurations and playing rules. The 8-player field is 40 feet (13.3 yards) and the distance between the hash marks are narrower than the 11-player field. The playing rules differ from 11-player in that there must be at least five players on the offensive line of scrimmage at the snap. Each player that is at the end of the line of scrimmage and each of the three players behind the line of scrimmage are eligible and may have any legal jersey number.

Bucks tame Raptors

The Milwaukee Bucks got a much needed win over the Toronto Raptors Tuesday evening, coming away with a 99-85 victory at Fiserv Forum.

The Bucks played without Damien Lillard who sat out due to concussion protocal and were able to control the game throughout against the lowly Raptors who dropped to 2-10 for the season.

Five Milwaukee players scored in double digits, lead by Giannis Antetokounmpo  with 23 points and seven assists.  Bobby Portis came off the bench to score 17 points and Brook Lopez added 13 more.

Gradey Dick led the Raptors with a game-high 32 points.

The Bucks (3-8) will play the Detroit Pistons (5-7) at home Wednesday night with tip set for 7 p.m.

MEET HISTORY:  The WIAA began girls swimming and diving championships in 1970 and moved to a two-division format in 1992. Madison area schools have dominated the championships through the years. Either Madison West or Madison Memorial won all the championships through 1983 and all but one of the Division 1 titles since the inception of the two-division format in 1992 up until 2002. Overall, Madison West has won 15 titles, and Madison Memorial has won 14. Next on the list is Arrowhead, which has captured 12 team championships, while Edgewood has eight championships and Shorewood has seven.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES-DIVISION 1:  Three individual events and all three relays feature former champions returning to the State Meet. The most decorated among the returning champions is junior Ella Antoniewski of Waukesha South/Mukwonago, who is the two-time defending champion in a pair of events. She is seeking her third consecutive title in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500 freestyle. She will again be considered the favorite to win both those events again based on her qualifying times. Her seed time of 1:49.28 in the 200 freestyle and her 4:55.08 in the 500 freestyle are the best in those events entering the State Meet. Sophomore Kiersten Dietschweiler of Oshkosh West is attempting to return to the medal stand in both those events as well after placing fourth behind Antoniewski in both events last season. Senior Carly Larson of De Pere/West De Pere is the returning champion in the 100 butterfly.  To repeat, she’ll need to fend off a host of returning medal winners in the event, including senior Sophia Brueggeman of Brookfield Central, a four-time qualifier, who was runner-up the past two seasons. In addition, senior Julia Saxman of Germantown has recorded the swiftest qualifying time in the event this year at 55.32 after placing fourth last year and fifth in 2022. Junior Caroline Wanezek of Brookfield East is a three-time qualifier in the 100 butterfly, finishing fifth last season and eight in 2022. Senior Payton Flowers of DeForest, who placed seventh in the 50 freestyle last year, enters the meet with the fastest seed time of 22.85. Her biggest challenges for the title may come from senior Jillian Holler of Madison Memorial, who was fourth last year and sixth back in 2021. She has the next quickest seed time to Flowers at 23.37. Flowers is also the fastest qualifier in the 100 freestyle at 49.88 after placing seventh last season. Among her competition for the title are Block, who was runner-up last season after finishing seventh in 2022; Holler, who was third a year ago, eighth in 2022, and seventh in 2021; and freshman Jane Garlock, who turned in the second-fastest effort at sectionals with a time of 50.33. The qualifying field in the 100 backstroke is led by junior Olivia Sina of Oregon with the best seed time of 55.48 on the heels of her third-place finish last year. Senior Audrey Falkner Worgull of Arrowhead possesses the experience and qualifying time to contend as well. She enters competition with seed time of 55.67 after placing fifth last season and ninth in 2022.  Freshman Avery Antoniewski, sister of Ella, could also come away with the gold in the backstroke  based on her seed time of 55.75. Senior Anna Flanagan of Appleton North has the top seed performance in the 100 breaststroke at 1:03.75 after placing fourth last year, 12th in 2022 and eighth in 2021. Among her stiffest challengers could be Curran, who was runner-up a year ago and sixth in 2022. She is the next-fastest qualifying behind Flanagan at 1:04.04. Brookfield East is the four-time returning champion in the 400 freestyle relay. The Spartans’ seed time this season is about six seconds behind Middleton, the top qualifier in the event this year with a seed time of 3:26.84. Among the notable experienced swimmers that may challenge for medals are sophomore Lauren Simon of Shorewood, who placed third last year; senior Sylvia Thompson of Edgewood, who was fourth last season, fifth in 2022 and fourth in 2021; and sophomore Nora Williams of the Kohler co-op, who was fifth in 2023. Each are looking to return to the awards podium this week. Maggie Dickinson’s time of 54.79 is the fastest among the 100 backstroke qualifiers. Among the other qualifiers that can contend are senior Kaylee Oleson of Sauk Prairie, who finished third in 2023 and 11th in 2022; and Lamers, who was fifth last season. Spartans settle for silver vs. Crusaders on 104.1 WRLU

The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team could not solve the front line of Catholic Memorial Saturday night, falling in straight sets (18-25, 10-25, 22-25) in the WIAA Division 2 State Championship.

The Spartans never held a lead in the match until the third set and only forced three tied scores during the match. A big reason why was the Crusaders' front line, which posted eight team blocks compared to just three for the Spartans. The Crusaders' attack was just as strong, posting a hitting percentage that never dipped below .230 compared to the Spartans' numbers that never climbed above .190.

In the first set, the Crusaders had two runs of four straight points to set themselves apart from the Spartans. It was similar in the second set when the Crusaders went on a pair of 6-0 runs to put the Spartans in the unenviable position of being down 2-0.

The Spartans scored six of the first seven points in the third set before the Crusaders began to chip away. They would later flip the script as they scored seven of eight points, turning a 9-6 deficit into an 11-9 advantage. The Spartans tightened the set late, but a service error ended the threat and gave them their second silver ball in program history. Head coach Jeff Frey said after the game that he felt his team played well but that Catholic Memorial just played much better that night.

The Spartans were led by Campbell Onell (seven kills, two service aces), Isabella Vandervelden (six kills, two service aces), Aubrey Frey (six kills, 13 digs), Alayna Deprez (22 assists), and Rylan Kaminski (14 digs).

Tommies topple Phoenix men in home opener

A 17-6 run late in the second half was not enough to dig out of an earlier-made hole as the Green Bay Phoenix men lost to St. Thomas 90-76.

The two teams traded baskets early before the Tommies went on an 11-2 run near the first half's midway point that set them up for the easy win the rest of the way. Timber Rattlers Shortstop continues to collect honors

Cooper Pratt has a Gold Glove.  The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers shortstop made the shortlist of the best defenders in Minor League Baseball as the Gold Glove winner at his position.

In 22 regular season games with the Rattlers, Pratt committed just one error.  He played 65 regular season games with the Carolina Mudcats, the Carolina League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, before joining Wisconsin.  He posted a .976 fielding percentage and was part of 51 double plays in 2024’s regular season.

Pratt’s signature defensive play with the Timber Rattlers occurred in Game One of the West Division Finals at Quad Cities.  Wisconsin was clinging to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning and the River Bandits had the tying run at third with one out.  Pratt, who was playing on the infield grass, speared a hard Omar Hernandez line drive with a dive to his left for the second out of the inning to maintain the lead.  The final out of the game was recorded with a strikeout moments later to give Wisconsin their first playoff victory since 2012.

Awards are nothing new to Pratt in 2024.  The #2 prospect in the Brewers organization was a Carolina League Post-Season All-Star and a co-winner of the Milwaukee Brewers Robin Yount Performance Award for the organization’s Minor League Player of the Year.  Pratt also represented the Brewers at the 2024 MLB Futures Game.

The Timber Rattlers were already honoring Pratt with a bobblehead for the 2025 season.  The Yooper Pratt bobblehead presented by Auto-Owners Insurance and Alliance Insurance Centers LLC is part of the team’s 2025 Bobblehead Ticket Package.  This bobblehead is also a giveaway as part of Yooper Day on Sunday, May 18 at 1:10 pm.

The 2025 season will begin on Friday, April 4, at Neuroscience Group Field against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. The first pitch is set for 6:40 p.m.

Packers search for 27th Packers Fan Hall of Fame inductee

You could join over 20 fans and dozens of former players as a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.

The organization asks fans to nominate themselves, friends, and relatives until November 30th to be inducted into the Packers Fan Hall of Fame. The nomination should include an essay of 500 words or less describing the merits of the nominee and a picture. The ten finalists who best represent the spirit of the Packers will be chosen in December by the Packers Fan Hall of Fame selection committee before the final voting takes place in January.

The Packers Fan Hall of Fame was established in 1998.

L-C's Frey revels in return to state volleyball tournament

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, something Luxemburg-Casco volleyball coach Jeff Frey knows all too well before his Spartans open state tournament play on Friday at the Resch Center.

After finishing as the state runner-up in 2017, the Spartans won three straight titles between 2019 and 2021. Before the Spartans could set the Resch Center as their forwarding address for November volleyball, they were beaten by eventual state champion Xavier in each of the past two years. Frey says the break has allowed him to reflect on how special it is to play in such an environment and balancing business with pleasure.

Frey says his team is a close-knit group, crediting a weekend in Iowa for a tournament and a book study as ways they have built chemistry and resiliency together. As strong as his relationships are with the entire team, none is as strong as one between a father and daughter. After supporting her dad as a fan, Aubrey Frey became a major contributor to this year's squad. Along with his spouse turning into not just a coach's wife but a player's mom, Frey admits that this tournament run will be a little more special than the others.

The Spartans open their state tournament quest on Friday at 10:30 a.m. against St. Thomas More. Tyler Thrune and Paul Schmitt will have the call in 104.1 WRLU and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 10:15 a.m. with the pregame show followed by the first serve.

Packers trade Preston Smith to Pittsburgh for draft choice

In their only move before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers decided to sell and not buy.  The Packers sent veteran pass rusher Preston Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a seventh-round pick for Smith, pending a physical.

Smith, a 10-year veteran, was a second-round pick of Washington in 2015. He spent four years there before signing with the Packers in 2019. This season, he had 2.5 sacks in nine starts with the Packers.  For his career in Green Bay, Smith started 88 games and recorded 44 sacks, the sixth most in Packer history.

The trade will allow more playing time for the Packer’s 2024 first-rounder, Lukas Van Ness.

The move is also a cost-cutting effort by the Packers, as Smith is signed through 2026. His salary for 2024 is $3.2 million, and he will earn $12 million next year.

Lions wash out Packers' win streak

The Green Bay Packers saw their winning streak get washed away by the rain and a superior Detroit Lions team on Sunday, losing the game 24-14 at soggy Lambeau Field.

The Packers held a 3-0 lead after the first quarter, but the Lions took the lead right back for good at the very beginning of the second quarter on a short touchdown pass to Amon St. Brown to make it 7-3.

Emmanuel Wilson's two-yard touchdown in garbage time late made the game closer, but still sent the Packers to 0-2 in the NFC North for the first time in nearly a decade.

The Packers are out of action until November 16th, when they travel to the lakefront to battle the Chicago Bears.

Phoenix basketball teams open regular season Monday

The Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams will both open against Big 12 teams on the road on Monday to kick off their regular seasons under new leadership.

Doug Gottlieb will make his coaching debut against his alma mater when the Phoenix men battle Oklahoma State in Stillwater at 8 p.m. The Phoenix men won their lone exhibition game on Thursday, Oct. 24 against St. Norbert 102-73 behind a 40-plus performance from former NAIA All-American Anthony Roy. Even though much of the roster was overhauled from last year following former head coach Sunny Wicks' departure, the Phoenix do return Foster Wonders, Preston Ruedinger, and Marcus Hall.

Kayla Karius will coach her first game as the leader of the Phoenix women's program when they play in Manhattan, Kan. against Kansas State. The Wildcats are ranked #13  in the country after making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a season ago. The Phoenix women bring back a veteran group that broke their NCAA drought last year. The two teams tip off at 11 a.m.

Gamblers split games against Steel

The Green Bay Gamblers split their matchups this weekend against the Chicago Steel, and the road team won both games.

In Friday's game in Green Bay, a three-goal outburst in the second period helped the Steel get past the Gamblers 6-2. Will Zellers scored in the first period and Aidan Park registered his goal in the third period for the Gamblers. Gavin Moffatt stopped 19 of the 24 shots he faced as he was hassled by the Steel's Aidan Dyer, who scored one goal and helped on two others.

The Gamblers won in Geneva, Ill., on Saturday, 4-3 in overtime. After Niles Benson got the Gamblers on the scoreboard in the opening frame, the Gamblers and Steel combined for five goals in the final stanza, including goals from the Gamblers' Vasily Zelenov and Anthony Cardilli. Zellers delivered the game-winner halfway through the extra period to give the Gamblers the win. Goalie Dylan Johnson made 21 saves on 24 shots faced.

Luxemburg-Casco clinches state berth with win over Kewaskum

Luxemburg-Casco's volleyball will make its triumphant return to the Resch Center after a thrilling 3-1 win over Kewaskum in Sheboygan.

The Spartans captured the win by winning the sets 25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 26-24. In the fourth set, the Spartans found themselves down 12-5 before rallying for the victory.

The Spartans were led by Alayna Deprez (55 assists, 26 digs, and 2 aces), Ella Vander Velden (24 kills, 24 digs), Aubrey Frey (23 kills, 31 digs, 2 aces), and Rylan Kaminski (34 digs).

Head coach Jeff Frey was thrilled with his team's resiliency all season long that reared its head again in the match's decisive fourth set. "Kewaskum is so well coached and they were so good defensively, Jimmy does a great job with his team. I am so proud of the grit and fight we showed tonight. To be down 12-5 in the 4th and come back and win, says so much about how we have responded to adversity all season."

Packers face stern test vs. Lions at Lambeau Sunday

The Green Bay Packers look to avoid dropping to 0-2 in the NFC North on Sunday when they welcome the Detroit Lions to Lambeau Field.

Two of the biggest acquisitions of the season were not on the roster to begin training camp but loomed large in the Green Bay Packers' 30-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road last Sunday. After Jordan Love exited the game with an injured groin, Malik Willis entered the game and engineered two touchdown drives to help the Packers retake the lead. The Jaguars answered accordingly and tied the game late before Brandon McManus registered his second walk-off, game-winning field goal to lead the Packers to the win. Jacobs ended his day with 127 yards on 25 carries, including a 38-yard score to put the Packers up 20-17 after the Jaguars took the lead.

The Lions took advantage of short fields against the Tennessee Titans in a 52-10 victory last Sunday. Jared Goff only threw for 85 yards on 12 completions, but three of those went for touchdowns while Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 127 yards and a score.

Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m.

Sturgeon Bay soccer season ends at Saint Mary Catholic

The Clippers’ soccer season ended on Saturday with a 0-4 loss to Kiel in the sectional finals. Sturgeon Bay found themselves in a hole early on after giving up a penalty kick just four minutes into the match after an unlucky bounce lead to a foul in the box. Emerson Sitzman scored on the kick. The Clippers would hold the score at 0-1 until 33 seconds into the second half when Emerson Sitzman would find the net again. Shortly after, Heller would score in the 44th minute and then Koen Sitzman would add another bringing the score to 4-0. The Clippers need to be commended on another great season and winning their 16th in a row regional title this year.
